HEALING & TRANSFORMATION THROUGH THE ARTS.

Submissions due August 15, 2012
All work must be related to healing from and/or speaking out against sexual violence, and gender and/or sexual oppression.  This year we are especially seeking work that makes connections between youth culture, sexual violence, and social issues.

We are also looking for pieces that envision a new culture of safety for survivors of oppression.

On Our Radar is a searchable, public database featuring nearly 400 noteworthy projects that advanced to the second or third phase of last year’s highly competitive grant round for Film/Video and Visual Arts projects. Although the featured projects were not ultimately funded, we feel they are projects to watch. This site will be online through August 31, 2012.

In each application round, we have the great privilege of learning about a wealth of exciting projects, and this initiative opens up this valuable opportunity for discovery to the larger community of arts professionals, other artists and funders.

Thanks to the internet, there is a vast amount of knowledge out there. It’s just a matter of knowing where to look. We have compiled here several resources for varying kinds of knowledge – craft for craft and mixed media artists looking into new methods of fabrication, video for digital media use, fine arts for artists looking for specific tips, and art history for historical context.
