The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
4525 Oak Street Kansas City, MO 64111

Thursday, September 6, 2012
6:30 to 8:00 pm

Doors open at 6:00 pm and speakers begin promptly at 6:30 pm.

This workshop is presented by the Spencer Art Reference Library of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.  The presentation features a group discussion centered on a bibliography of library resources relevant to artists working in a variety of fields and a tour of the library’s facilities.

The Spencer Art Reference Library’s aim is to offer artists a research space with reliable resources and an awareness of the library and its mission to provide public services to the community.  The bibliography includes valuable resources about managing and marketing an artistic career as well as resources for creative inspiration.  The discussion is led by library staff members, including an Artist INC alumnus.  Join the discussion, take a tour of the library’s facilities, both public and behind-the-scenes, and see a selection of the library’s treasures from Special Collections.

Located in the Bloch Building of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Spencer Art Reference Library is free and open to the public Wednesday through Sunday and by appointment on Tuesdays.

See the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s website for more information about the Spencer Art Reference Library.
